“So where are we going?” Roxie asked. She was nestled in Magyc’s passenger seat, hanging on the edge of suspense.

“Airport,” he simply said.

“Why? Where are we going?”

“You’ll see when we get there.”

“Magyc, I don’t know if I—”

“Call ya baby sitter and let her know we gon’ be AWOL a couple days. I’ll pay her twice as much as you usually do.”

“It ain’t the babysitter I’m worried about. It’s you…”

“Look, you trust me?” Magyc suddenly asked.

Roxie stalled with a response. “Magyc, I—”

“It’s a simple yes or no answer, babe. Do you trust me?”

Roxie looked over at him and smiled. She should’ve been asking about his girl’s whereabouts… but truthfully, she didn’t give a damn. She was feeling him, despite all the malarkey. “I shouldn’t… but I do…”

Fourteen hours later, they touched down in the beautiful town of Saint-Tropez, France. Magyc went all out, hiring a limo driver to escort them to a private luxury villa with a pool close to the center. The villa was only a five-minute walk to the beach, and they could see mountains across the ocean from their window. The scenery beyond beautiful, and unlike anything Roxie had ever seen.

She felt like Annie as she explored the massive private getaway. She had to pinch herself just to make sure she wasn’t dreaming.

“Do you like it?” Magyc asked.

“It’s beautiful,” she smiled. “But don’t think your ass is off the hook.”

After a hearty breakfast of Pain aux raisins and strawberries, Magyc and Roxie walked along the shore of Plage de Pampelonne — the crown jewel of beaches in the coastal town. Once they were tired, they relaxed under a private cabana, had drinks, and talked about everything under the sun. Roxie soon learned how much they shared in common. She loved that he was a great listener and possessed a sense of humor. He was unlike any man she’d ever met.

After lunch at the five star Restaurant Le G’, she and Magyc rented a topless Benz and drove 8 hours to Paris. There was no limit to the things he’d do to put a smile on her face… and this was only just the beginning.

Magyc and Roxie spent the entire evening sightseeing and taking pictures. In the morning, he took her shopping, sparing no expense when it came to her high-end tastes. Louboutin, Chanel, Prada. By the time she finished swiping his card, she had bags from every European designer.

That afternoon they enjoyed a picnic at the Eiffel Tower. Roxie had never done anything more romantic. O’ Zone had never even taken her out of Atlanta, let alone the country. And Joaquin had died before they could get that far.

Magyc was effortlessly raking in all the cool points and he knew it. Although she shouldn’t have, for various reasons, Roxie found herself falling for him with every second they spent together.

The two of them shared an eventful day in Paris before finally heading back to their villa in St-Tropez. “I really can’t thank you enough for this, Magyc,” she told him.
